Milk Reading

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our Ukrainian friends. You’ve really made a difference.

If you’re just hearing about it, check out last week’s post. We’ll likely keep the wishlist open until Thanksgiving.

It has officially been one full month since we moved and I almost have my writing area set up the way I like it.

In some ways, that admission is embarrassing. I mean, it’s been a full month and I haven’t finished something so simple. (I also haven’t yet finished The Rings of Power. Take that as you will.)

But in other ways, that’s a major accomplishment. (I spent the first part of this week making frequent pilgrimages to kneel before the porcelain throne.)

I’ve really been struggling to get my writing habit back. It was easy before the move. (If you call waking up at 5:00am easy.)

Now, I have to write after work, (about 2:00 pm) and I feel guilty for the opportunity costs. If I’m writing, I’m not helping my wife or playing with my son.

It’s not as though I write all day, but when I add my workouts and volunteering to my writing time, it adds up.

When things like this come up, I generally just go through the motions to keep myself moving forward until I bounce back. I hope finishing my writing area will help with that.

How do y’all handle these kinds of issues?

On another personal note:

(This whole thing has been one big personal note.)

My kid has started using his bottle as a paint brush.

What can you divine from his milk splotch? (Wrong answers only, unless you want to be psychoanalyzed. 😉)
